Role: Business Intelligence Engineer Location : Austin, TX or Minneapolis, MN Must be strong Power BI and Tableau Prefer Austin, TX or Minneapolis, MN May be asked to go onsite from time to time Description: Company is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who designs, develops, and maintains various BI systems and technologies like data warehouses, data lakes, dashboards, and various reporting systems to help organizations unleash the power of data for informed decision-making, stay competitive, and achieve our strategic objectives. We are looking for a data wizard who can leverage their business acumen and technical skills to turn data into knowledge and drive business success. Technical Overview: Experience with data analytics software to collect, prepare and present data so its accessible for consumption. Turning raw data into clean business ready information. Design reports. Design dashboards. Designing and creating data models. Creating visualizations to represent data. Writing SQL queries. Excellent technical abilities in data modeling, data visualization, SQL programming and database management. Familiarity with various BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau. Provide the organization with the information needed to make informed decisions and drive Effective communication and collaboration abilities are necessary for working effectively with other stakeholders within an organization to comprehend business requirements. Skills: SQL SSRS SSIS Data preprocessing - Materialized Views Power BI Dashboarding ETL Data Warehousing Visualization Tools - Tableau Git and GitHub Understanding data modeling, data schemas Understanding database operations and optimization for PostgreSQL Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques. Creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation. Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field and one year of experience in business intelligence, or as a Data Engineer, Data Miner, or a related occupation. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): using SQL, ETL; processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources; performing statistical analysis; and developing automated reporting. Telecommuting optional: work may be performed from anywhere in the US.
