Client Experienced profiles only Exp: 14+ Years Job Description: Work involves directing the activities and staff of the network architecture teams; participate in establishing a strategic plan with goals and objectives along with tools to measure progress in meeting goals; participate in daily operations; participate in vendor management activities and monitoring; managing highly advanced network projects; managing activities associated with a local area network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) Internet and intranet systems; planning, designing, and integrating data telecommunications networks; oversight for designing, installing, and monitoring network systems; developing policies and procedures; preparing budget recommendations; and evaluating potential network enhancements. Reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Manages a team of professional and technical employees. Worker will perform these tasks: x Responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity, reliability, scalability, and security needs are met now and into the future. x Leads a team of Information Technology professionals; Leads the creation and delivery of solutions as a Subject Matter Expert; Provides expert guidance to the team on new solutions and designs. x Conducts research and recommends changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and network procurements. x Reviews proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the customers. x Evaluates network technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency. x Manages third-party vendor and leads, directs, and utilizes knowledge on best practices in areas related to networking, data, and telecommunications. x Monitors and defines the requirements of the overall security of the enterprise network. Oversees the monitoring and implementation of hardware and software solutions to help mitigate a wide variety of network attacks. x Mitigates escalations of client incidents and issues. Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution. x Manages and establishes priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of complex network systems. x Perform current state and future state network service mapping, conducts gap analysis, estimates and plans delivery milestones, communicate plans and progress, and leads cross-department development meetings. x Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
