Role: CMDB Developer Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Contract 6+ years of experience in CMDB development experience Strong Verbal and written communication Job Summary: As a CMDB (Configuration Management Database) Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the CMDB platform within the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architecting the CMDB solution, and ensuring its effectiveness in managing configuration items and relationships across the IT infrastructure. The CMDB Developer will also play a key role in integrating the CMDB with other IT service management (ITSM) systems and tools. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop the CMDB solution based on industry best practices and organizational requirements. Define and implement configuration management processes and policies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency within the CMDB. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs for configuration management. Configure and customize the CMDB platform to align with specific organizational workflows and requirements. Develop and maintain data models, classes, attributes, and relationships within the CMDB. Implement automated discovery and reconciliation processes to populate and update CMDB data. Integrate the CMDB with other ITSM tools and systems, such as incident management, change management, and asset management. Provide training and support to users and stakeholders on CMDB functionality, usage, and best practices. Monitor CMDB performance, identify areas for optimization, and implement improvements as needed. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to configuration management and CMDB solutions. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a CMDB Developer or similar role, with a strong understanding of configuration management principles and practices. Proficiency in configuring and customizing CMDB platforms, such as ServiceNow, BMC Atrium CMDB, or similar tools. Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL). Experience with IT service management processes and frameworks (ITIL, COBIT). Familiarity with ITSM tools and systems, including incident management, change management, and asset management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Certifications in ITSM and CMDB tools (e.g., ITIL, ServiceNow) are a plus.
