Job Description

SharePoint Specialist

Our client is seeking a SharePoint Specialist to assist their organization. The SharePoint Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining 0365 SharePoint Online solutions for our client.

Responsibilities

Design and develop a SharePoint Online intranet based on the clients business requirements.

Apply business analysis skills and techniques to identify and document business requirements.

Apply intelligent intranet best practices, and eAccessibility design practices in designing and developing the intranet.

Document requirements, functional design specifications, and configuration settings, and provide knowledge transfer to operational/support IT teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to migrate existing content from the current intranet to the SharePoint Online intranet.

Evaluate SharePoint Syntex to automatically classify records apply metadata, and develop a recommendation for its use.

Configure SharePoint online site collections and site templates based on best practices.

Implement security measures and permissions settings to control access to SharePoint Online sites, documents, and sensitive information.

Define user roles, groups, and permission levels in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Build and provide demos and presentations for user education and technology introduction or update.

Develop and deliver user training enabling users to leverage the capabilities of the SharePoint platform to organize their content, easily find documents and collaborate on content with internal and external users.

Qualifications

5+ years designing, developing, and administering SharePoint Online sites.

Experience applying intelligent intranet best practices, and eAccessibility design practices to design and build intranet sites using SharePoint Online.

Experience as a Business Analyst.

Extensive knowledge of SharePoint Online permissions, groups, and sharing settings.

Knowledge and experience with SharePoint Look Book site provisioning, and the ability to explain the benefits and limitations between Communication sites, Team sites, and Microsoft Teams sites.

Experience designing custom SharePoint lists, libraries, and content types.

Experience designing and testing SharePoint and web-based content management solutions.

Experience with SharePoint to SharePoint and file share to SharePoint migration tools.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including Knowledge of OneDrive file synchronization issues and how to resolve them.

Experience with the Office365 Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, and PowerAutomate)

Experience with AGILE development methodology.

Knowledge of information architecture.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users.

Orientation toward collaboration and teamwork with the ability to be flexible and adapt to the organization.

Experience providing excellent customer support for SharePoint site users and owners.

Ability to create and maintain end-user documentation covering best practices for SharePoint tailored to clients users.

Inclination to promote user adoption of SharePoint and Microsoft O365 applications through employee training and preparation of self-help materials, technical demonstrations, consultation and support of existing functionality.

Experience writing concise knowledge base articles for other system administrators.

Experience creating and delivering user training materials.

Must be able to pass the clients background check.

Preferred:

Office 365 certification.

Software development skills related to SharePoint.

Knowledge and experience with WordPress administration and Google Suite administration.

Project Management skills.

Experience with governance and retention concepts within Office 365, including in-place Records Retention with MIP.
