Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities Interface with corporate business partners to deliver reporting solutions around call center operations including Aspect eWFM, Avaya, and billing system data assets Educate end users on the functionality of products developed and document those products for future reference Coach and mentor junior developers on the team Transform business requirements into sustainable BI solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy architecture, reports, and dashboards Contribute to solution architecture by approving data architecture as ready to be consumed by MicroStrategy Recommend best practices and innovative reporting solutions above and beyond given requirements through delivery Be an expert in MicroStrategy architecture and how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model Expertise in transforming data into visually appealing dashboards that are easily consumed Successfully extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse in a sustainable and supportable way Tune mobile and desktop reporting strategy for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or cubing/caching strategy Write SQL scripts against the Teradata warehouse to support analysis, discovery, and testing of reports Understand and execute proper development practices through a standard BI SDLC Understand the fundamentals of a dimensional data warehouse model and how to optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy Support and document reports in a way that maximizes end user efficiency Quickly iterate and prototype on key business initiatives to arrive at a finished product that aligns with end user expectations Perform other duties as requested Required Skills Mastery of MicroStrategy toolset including Architect, Developer, Web, Mobile, Office, Command/System Manager, and Object Manager Expertise in Teradata 15 Extensive experience in data warehousing and star-schema architecture Proficient in building complete MicroStrategy solutions including architecture, reports, and dashboards Proficient in MicroStrategys mobile dashboarding solutions for iPad and Android Outstanding SQL skills Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) Self-motivated with an ability to confidently execute independently with little direction Leadership / Mentorship skills Ability to think creatively and apply innovative solutions Ability to analyze and apply critical thinking to resolve complex issues Outstanding organizational skills Strong problem solving skills Ability to work well under pressure Strong team and relationship building skills Ability to prioritize requests and set expectations Desire to grow/learn/succeed Cable or call center operations experience strongly preferred Meticulous attention to detail Motivation to stay up-to-speed on industry best practices and new technologies Aptitude to manage delivery of reporting solutions Strong technical writing skills Consulting experience Required related work experience: MicroStrategy report development - 5+ w/ Masters | 7+ w/o Masters Data Warehouse design/development - 5+ w/ Masters | 7+ w/o Masters SQL Query Design - 5+ w/ Masters | 7+ w/o Masters Keywords: business intelligence golang Connecticut |
