Work Schedule: Onsite 5 days a week Provide Primary DBA (Database Administration) responsibilities including support of the various application development teams through advising on design, implementing solutions and optimizing databases for the applications. Responsibilities: Working as a MS SQL Server (Microsofts Database offering) expert for the firm Evaluating and Adopting features in new releases of the MS SQL Server product Work closely with Engineers across all Business Units to design, develop and optimize databases for diverse application workloads Provide support for Database (RDBMSs) standardization programs from design, development and implementation Installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of DBMS environment Design and implement database security controls in order to safeguard firms data Provide production support, capacity planning and work on building the database infrastructure globally Manage various OS and database specific upgrades on Windows/Linux environment Build self-service and automation tools using scripts/programs (ex. powershell) in order to reduce manual processing in providing low-touch offerings Working closely with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams to provide feedback as well as new feature requirements as per the firms development needs Qualifications: Required Technical Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5 years of experience in a related role 5+ years in Database design, Replication, Stored procedures, SQL performance and tuning and all aspects of high-value add applications database support. 5+ years Relational Database development, troubleshooting, design for highly concurrent applications Ability to partner with application developers to negotiate and confidence to influence and promote database standardized solutions Excellent analytical skills in understanding complex issues and devising specific database solutions for global applications Experience with highly transactional system Detailed knowledge of Always On and Clustering Has worked migrating SQL Servers from on premise to Cloud (AWS specifically a plus) Ability to set up, configure and monitor SQL Server replication with complex patterns Skilled in evaluating and tuning sql for performance enhancements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5 years of experience in a related role Keywords: microsoft |
