Job Title: Mainframe Application Developer Job Location: 55 Water Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10041 (100%- ONSITE)- Local Duration: Long Term Contract No. of Hours: 35 Hrs./Week Interview: Telephonic & Zoom/Skype Project Scope: The purpose of this project is to support all client IT mainframe database and application needs (Adabas and Natural), including but not limited to client legacy applications PIMS, FITS and PMS. These legacy applications are used by client asset, defect and work order management systems to manage client streets, parking and other street assets. Services Desired: Client seeks an experienced consultant that can: Run existing daily, bi-weekly, monthly reports for all client Mainframe applications. Create new reports as needed. Resolve any programs or data errors for end users. Create new ETL jobs and monitor existing ones for data sharing needs throughout the agency. Upgrade programs to new versions when DOITT Mainframe team does infrastructure and software upgrades. Collaborate with other IT development teams to migrate and integrate modules with modern asset management systems. Work closely with business analysts, subject matter experts and development teams in design, development, testing, implementation, and support of application projects. Participate in the software testing process, including identification and resolution of defects. Contribute to and support roll-out strategies. Participate in and contribute to formal/informal technical reviews and presentations. Understand high level application architecture/design, network design, performance constraints and security frameworks. Apply technical knowledge to determine solutions and solve complex problems. Research, present and/or make recommendations on technical issues. Explore new ideas and initiatives that encourage innovation. Take inputs from reporting manager(s) and appropriately apply comments/ feedback. Accurately estimate time required to complete development tasks. Collaborate with diverse teams. Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with a variety of people and achieve results. Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with team members b. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. Minimum of 4 years experience in a particular technical and/or business application, product, platform, methodology or skill set that is beyond the requirements addressed in the other labor categories. Natural programming version 8.7, v9, NaturalOne, MVSTSO, JCL, ISPF commands, xmitip, SAS v9.3 for mainframe, Cobol. c. Preferred Skills/Experience for Consultant Candidates : BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred. Minimum 5 + years experience of tech skills listed in mandatory skills section (Natural programming version 8.7, v9, NaturalOne, MVSTSO, JCL, ISPF commands, xmitip, SAS v9.3 for mainframe, Cobol.) Good communication, presentation and leadership skills. Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams. Ability to work on multiple projects as team lead or team member/developer. Ability to understand business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments.
