Support logical tape replication between the in-region and out-of-region data centers with daily incremental backups.Configure and manage virtual tape environments. Maintain data domains.Configure DASD hardware, including ranks and arrays layouts.Define Logical Control Units (LCUs). Define logical volumes and parallel access volumes in conjunction with IO GEN.Use ICKDSF for volume initialization and management.Examine, diagnose and backup ICF catalogs. Architect, define and monitor ICF user catalog environment. Perform full-volume backups.Define DFSMS environment in support of automated space allocation. Monitor DASD pools for space usage and provide additional capacity to the pools as required. Manage DFHSM environment, including HSM access, incremental backup, and migration. Manage SMS environment, including backup, migration, and performance.Perform volume and dataset restore activities.Manage SMS constructs. Configure and manage disk and tape encryption environments. Manage and maintain topologies and tools including StopX37, Pool DASD, CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager, aggregate backup and recovery support, fast dump restore and IBM Automatic Class Routine Management. Document and maintain backup and restore processes and procedures.Provide and execute full-volume backup and recovery procedures for the mainframe system environment. Provide and execute incremental backup and recovery procedures for user datasets. Perform catalog management, manage the retention and expiration of existing backups, and maintain backup frequency and retention documentation for full-volume and incremental backups. Implement scheduled backups to minimize disruption to production environment and schedule special backup and restore activity in accordance with agreed upon requirements. Retrieve archived tapes to restore required datasets when necessary. Maintain agreed upon back up levels and frequency. Support Disaster Recovery tests and technical validation testing.
