Position: AWS Data Architect (healthcare or medical billing) Location: Remote This data architect role will provide thought leadership for using data across the company. As a key contributor to the Quest Data Transformation initiative, the Data architect would work with Business / Technology teams to identify and chart the technology and strategy roadmap to unlock value from enterprise data assets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in large-scale modern data warehouse development and have had success leading cross-team technical discussions that drive key decisions, operational efficiency, and build competitive advantage. The architect would partner with Enterprise, Cloud, Application, and Digital Architects and teams to provide solutions. Key Responsibilities: Architect and design data solutions that integrate enterprise, marketing, and streaming data, enabling advanced analytics, real-time insights, and personalized customer experiences. Design and implement a scalable data lake house using Snowflake Cloud, enabling efficient data storage, processing, and analytics across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources. Develop data products, infrastructure and data pipelines leveraging Matillion, AWS services (such as Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda etc.) Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality for reliable insight Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data scientists, data engineers, and IT teams, to define data requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver high-quality data solutions. Participate in the definition of future data management architecture, with alignment to value creation opportunities across the business. Performing proof of concepts, object-oriented analysis/design, assessing new technologies, identifying data lineage, and performing complex data analysis and analytics Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and development teams. Stay current with new and emerging technologies and make recommendations on their adoption. Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas. Design and implement data governance policies and procedures. Develop strategies for business intelligence, analytics, and enterprise reporting. Set design patterns for application integration, data governance, and analytics development. Provide enhancement and optimization with ETL/ELT process development and maintenance. Develop and implement data migration strategies. Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in data architecture Proficiency in data formats such as JSON, HL7, EDI, and XML Experience with API development and integration using tools such as MuleSoft and REST APIs Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data architecture with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare domain Strong hands-on experience with Cloud databases such as Snowflake Experience in designing OLAP and OLTP systems for efficient data analysis and processing. Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions like Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage. Experience with multiple full life-cycle data warehouse/transformation implementations in the public cloud (AWS, Azure, and GCP) Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR Experience with Data warehouse architecture and ETL integration (Snowflake, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, Matillion ETL) Deep understanding of data architectures that utilize Data Fabric, Data Mesh, and Data Products Business & financial acumen to advise on product planning, conduct research & analysis, and identify the business value of new and emerging technologies. Strong SQL and database skills working with large structured and unstructured data. Strong familiarity with enterprise reporting solutions (AWS QuickSight, PowerBI, and Tableau), data virtualization, and semantic modeling Expertise in solution development using No-SQL and SQL data platforms. System development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile Development, DevSecOps, and standard software development tools such as Git and Jira Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey key choices, recommendations, and technology concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) or Terraform Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably focusing on clinical and billing data.
