We have an Urgent Requirement For Job Title: Data Scientist Client: Caterpillar Location: IL-Peoria - 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), subject to change. Positions Contributions to Work Group: As a Data Visualization Specialist in Parts Pricing, you will play a crucial role in solving problems for internal Caterpillar customers by utilizing visualization and analytics methods. Your contributions will focus on analysis and dashboard development of Parts Pricing data, engaging in projects of medium to high complexity with direct business impact. Reason/Motivation for Request: The need for additional expertise to enhance the analytical capabilities and business intelligence solutions in the Parts Pricing domain. Typical Day in the Role: Typical Task Breakdown: Understand and translate business requirements into actionable insights related to Business Intelligence and data models. Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver quality business intelligence solutions. Provide visualization and analytics support to high-profile Enterprise Strategy Division Projects. Use visualization and analytic methods to help the Parts Pricing Organization make data-driven decisions. Interaction with Team: Collaborate with the US team and Geneva leader, working within a global team. Work Environment: Office-based. Candidate Requirements: Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering, finance, computer science/information systems, business analytics, or similar) preferred. 2-4 years of relevant experience required. Technical Skills (Required): 2+ years of experience in a previous BI role, with Power BI experience. 1+ years of experience using SQL. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with DAX, M code programming, or Power BI data flows is highly desirable. Experience with Power BI publication in online workspaces. Proficiency in data extraction and transformation from various data sources. Expertise in report and dashboard design for visually appealing and interactive reports. Top 3 Technical Skills: 2+ years of experience in a previous BI role, with Power BI experience. 1+ years of experience using SQL. Expertise in report and dashboard design for visually appealing and interactive reports. Soft Skills (Required): Great communication skills (both oral and written). Problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders. Detail-oriented. Creativity. Disqualifiers/Red Flags: Large gaps between positions with no explanation. No recent experience with PowerBI.
