Client: Teamsoftinc Job title: Power BI (Onsite) Duration : 12+months Location: Hoffman Estates, IL (Need local to IL) Complete Description: A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Senior Power BI Developer with expertise in the following areas: Microsoft Power BI Expertise in Power BI Desktop, including creating and managing reports, creating reports, KPI metrics, charts, publishing, distributing information, and data models. Ability to design visually appealing and interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI Desktop using appropriate visualizations and customizations. Experience with Power BI Desktop administration tasks, such as data source management, data refresh scheduling, and performance optimization Ability to troubleshoot issues with Power BI Desktop reports and data models, including identifying and resolving errors and performance issues. Experience in using R or Python libraries for data analysis, machine learning, or statistical modeling within Power BI Desktop Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Microsoft Analysis Services Strong expertise in Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS) and its components, including OLAP tabular cubes, snowflake schema, measures, DAX, and calculated columns. Proven experience in designing and implementing OLAP cubes and models using SSAS, including defining hierarchies, relationships, KPIs, and perspectives. Knowledge of data security and governance principles, including row-level security, data classification, and auditing using SSAS. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize SSAS performance issues, including partitioning, aggregation, and indexing. Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schemas, data marts, and dimensional modeling, and how they apply to SSAS. Microsoft SQL Server Expertise in queries, sub queries, aggregate, pivot queries, inner, outer, left, right and cross joins, CRUD operations, stored procedures, functions, table design, and database relationships Experience in ETL solutions, including SSIS, data warehousing, importing, exporting, data transforming, and data distribution across multiple systems and platforms by SSIS packages. Strong understanding of data warehousing, data architecture, data snapshots, de-normalization of data to improve reads and performance on large data warehouse, creation of dimensional fact tables and dimensions. Development tools Visual Studio 2019 using SSDT SQL Server Management Studio Azure Data Studio , DAX Studio, and Tabular Editor Experience with version control tools, such as GIT or SVN, for managing database schema changes and deployments. Job Responsibilities Work closely with Business Analysts to review reporting requirements and assist in solutions analysis Design, develop, implement and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI through the use of interactive visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards Design reusable, efficient data models to transform raw data into meaningful data visualizations Manage implementation of reporting enhancements and changes Support ad hoc data reporting and data analysis Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and technical direction for Microsoft Power BI Development Develop/support MS SQL code including complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions with an understanding of performance factors (indexing, execution plans) Monitor SQL processes and create improvements to performance where applicable Ensure accuracy and integrity of data through analysis and unit testing Provide support for the change management process & perform post deployment validation for all changes deploying into production systems Support reporting operations by working with other development teams to resolve issues within established SLAs Assist in creating technical documents with moderate to complex designs Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Company Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights Using Power BI, create dashboards and interactive visual reports Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly Analyze data and display it in reports to aid decision-making Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis Use Power BI to run DAX queries and functions Create charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships Analyze current ETL procedures to define and create new systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical discipline is required Microsoft developer certifications in Power BI is a strong plus Skills and Abilities Strong writing, communication, and comprehension skills; customer service orientation Interpersonal relationship building and collaboration Strategic thinking including root cause and solution focused analytical ability Ability to juggle competing priorities, and to work independently and without supervision Thanks and Regards Rizwan Khan| SR US IT Recruiter | Thoughtwave Software and Solutions Inc 314 N.
