Job description:
Responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity, reliability, scalability, and security needs are met now and into the future.
Leads a team of Information Technology professionals; Leads the creation and delivery of solutions as a Subject Matter Expert; Provides expert guidance to the team on new solutions and designs.
Conducts research and recommends changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and network procurements.
Reviews proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the customers.
Evaluates network technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency.
Manages third-party vendors and leads, directs, and utilizes knowledge on best practices in areas related to networking, data, and telecommunications.
Monitors and defines the requirements of the overall security of the enterprise network. 
Oversees the monitoring and implementation of hardware and software solutions to help mitigate a wide variety of network attacks.
Mitigates escalations of client incidents and issues. Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution.
Manages and establishes priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of complex network systems.
Perform current state and future state network service mapping, conducts gap analysis, estimates and plans delivery milestones, communicates plans and progress, and leads cross-department development meetings.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

WAN and SD WAN communication technologies Firewalls & switching Wireless communication technologies
Business practices of the applicable industry Supervising professional and technical staff
Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others.
Maintaining a safe working environment Oral and written communication to convey complex and highly technical information to a diverse audience.

Minimum (Required):Years Skills/Experience
4 Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with major coursework in information systems, computer science, or a related field.
8 Network operations, network projects, and/or related IT activities.

Preferred (Optional):Years Skills/Experience
4 Supervisory/managerial experience
4 Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government)
4 Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to large groups
