Summary: The main function of a scrum master is to guide a team to use Agile and Scrum practices and values to meet customer needs. The typical Scrum master coaches a team to perform all task according to scrum processes. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required . MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. Scrum Master Certification is required 8+ years experience required. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage ones time. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods. Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc. Organizational Structure And Impact: Describe the impact this role has within the bank/LOB: Mitigating risks for the project Supporting the finance line of business Finance ERP - DDFF/ P-116302 Team Background and Preferred Candidate History: Team is comprised of technology backgrounds Focused on scrum masters that worked in a technology background prior Project with 7 crews but the scrum master will support 1-2 of those crews Job Responsibilities: Facilitate daily stand-ups and supporting the team in following the Scrum delivery process.. Handle traditional project management duties including: scope definition, staffing, communication of status to clients and partners, and risk/issue management. Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements. Author user stories, acceptance criteria and execute a portion of the testing on projects. Serve the team and product owner in turning requirements into the working software. Ensure product quality expectations are defined and known across the team. Collaborate with the team in scheduling work, including defect remediation and refactoring, guarding against the accumulation of technical debt. Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements. The Scrum master will have responsibilities in line with the requirements mentioned above as well as the following deliverables: Set up the scrum ceremonies as recommended by Agile PNC best practices Facilitate the Scrum Ceremonies as recommended by Agile PNC best practices Work with other Scrum Masters in the organization to set up appropriate Scrum of Scrums to manage cross team dependencies Work with the team(s) to identify and isolate blockers each sprint 5. Work with the team(s) to escalate blockers that have not been resolved in more than 48 hours Provide the following reports to the team(s) and management at the end of every sprint Burndown Burnup Improvements implemented across the team(s) each sprint Fix/version progress status Dependencies across teams and their status Blockers across teams and their assignees, status and age since opening Track team performance and provide reporting to management as needed: Guides and coaches one or more Scrum Teams on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers while aligning to PNCs agile process. Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques. Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the teams adhere to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines. Coaches the Scrum teams in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum teams. Works directly with the product owners and provide guidance to product owners in agile and scrum Works with Scrum Team (and other teams as needed), as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams. Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization. Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role. Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization. Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. Assist the team with preparing for delivery planning (program increments) and participate in the delivery planning efforts, participate in scrum of scrums and any other project event as established by the project team Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams assigned to mainly Business as Usual (BAU) work and to a lesser degree, important department initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives.
