[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position Title: Detroit, MI - IT - Detroit Public Schools - Information Technology - Technology Infrastructure - Infrastructure Solutions Architect 3 - 127914 Location: Detroit, MI As a critical member of the DPSCDs Technology Infrastructure Team, the Server Engineer will be responsible for responsible for the designing, planning, evaluating, and administration of Microsoft, Linux and Solaris server platforms, virtualization and storage infrastructure, ad business application deployment. The Server Engineer will be a valued member of the Server and Security teams and as such will be regularly looking to identifying opportunities for improvement, expansion, and innovation. In person 5 days a week - required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology is preferred Certification in server platforms for Microsoft, Linux and Solaris as well as VMware Virtualization is desired Five (5) years previous systems engineering experience Operational experience with industry standard security protocols and procedures is desired Minimum of five (5) years experience in server and storage infrastructure implementation and support Minimum of five (5) years experience in data center operations Extensive experience with VMware vSphere (version 7) Working Knowledge of Server 2003, 2008/R2, 2012, 2016, 2019 Operational experience with an enterprise backup solution Experience with Dell & HP Server Technologies Minimum of two (2) years experience with Microsoft Azure AD connect and Office 365. Infrastructure support including: Windows Server, vitalization, SAN/storage platforms, Active Directory (AD) and Shell scripting Experience with Operational support (Tier 3) of: server (virtual & physical), storage, backup, and Active Directory Excellent troubleshooting and logical skills along with a deep understanding of TCP/IP networking Essential Functions: 1.Deploy, support, and maintain server infrastructure systems for optimal performance and efficiency. 2.Assist in maintaining cloud-based enterprise solutions including Microsoft Azure / Office 365 (including SharePoint). 3.Provide Tier 2 and 3 End User Support, including responding to help desk ticket and reported incidents. Share on-call, off-hours support responsibilities with the team. 4.Investigate, troubleshoot, facilitate, and report incidents resulting in outage or system failure, including comprehensive root cause analysis and development of recommendations and next steps for optimal incident management. 5.Assist with technology planning and operational goals, including development of project plans, coordination with hardware, software and solution purchasing, and daily health checks and monitoring for all systems. 6.Identify and document key policies, procedures, and governance for enterprise systems operations, including knowledge articles as needed. 7.Provide support and ongoing reinforcement of change management philosophies related to changes and advances in innovative business systems. 8.Identify and document key policies, procedures, and governance for enterprise systems operations, including knowledge articles as needed.
