| Role: Manager applications engineering Location: Medina, Minnesota Hybrid; 25% travel Description : The client has an exciting position for an applications engineer lead. The Role In this position, you will lead a team of Application Systems Engineers who implement switch order management and outage planning applications. In this role, your responsibilities will include, Managing local team application engineers. Your Impact Qualify, assign, prioritize, and allocate appropriate resources to support company projects Hire and onboard new employees as needed, focus on retaining key talent Be accountable for the continuous improvement of team processes Evaluate team members relative to performance goals and plans. Determine and develop training materials and project documentation Oversee Applications Engineering work for customer projects. Work with customers to understand requirements and communicate project plans. Collaborate with other functions/departments around detailed requirements of systems. Design, integrate, test, and commission advanced control systems for electric utilities. Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements. Perform unit testing and tuning to ensure power system applications will meet customer and industry requirements. Perform customer training and consult on switch order management and outage planning to ensure the effective use and maintenance of a customers operations. Assist in creating project and product documentation as needed. Support live customer systems using knowledge of utility SCADA operations and functionality with clear, logical thought processes. What You'll Need Skills Need Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field required. 5-8 years experience in project engineering or project management, preferably in a related industry. 3-5 years experience as a people leader. Ability to travel at least 25% Strong leadership, organizational, project management, written, oral, and presentation skills required. Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and at different levels of the organization are important. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
