[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Client is state of PA Agency is PennDOT Role is UI/UX Designer Interview is In-Person Work Location is Harrisburg (Remote but require to attend meetings) Prefer Local Candidates (at least one local or from State of PA) Start and End Date : 04/01/24 To 06/30/24 Short Description The eTransit Reporting system is a greenfield web application being built for PennDOTs Bureau of Public Transit to replace and enhance a legacy system using the latest .NET and Angular technologies for deployment to the Azure cloud. Complete Description ***This requisition's current PO is funded through 6/30/24, so use that date in the RTR. Contract end date is dependent on the final schedule and projected needs. Historically additional funding should then last a year and occur from 7/1/24-6/30/25.*** The eTransit Reporting system is a greenfield web application being built for PennDOTs Bureau of Public Transit to replace and enhance a legacy system using the latest .NET and Angular technologies for deployment to the Azure cloud. The application will allow easier communication between PennDOT, the Federal Department of Transit, and public transit agencies within Pennsylvania while enhancing lines of business and looking forward to future changes and systems enhancements. Prospective initial deployment of the application is March 2025. Candidates will work under the direction of the projects Technical Lead and Application Architect to write, test, and document code to implement system features and enhancements. Skills: Required: 8+ Years HTML5, CSS3 including Bootstrap, JavaScript Wireframing and prototyping Style Guide development and implementation Expertise in responsive and mobile-first design SaaS UI design patterns and interactions Tools: Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD: Prefer Axure Visual Studio with recent experience with VS2022 and VS Code Azure DevOps / Git Required: Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA) Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements Experience creating user experience and interaction designs that meet accessibility guidelines. Experience designing for platform technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, iOS, Android) Experience designing inclusive flows that take into account keyboard interaction, non-visual user interaction, use of color and contrast, and multimedia interactions. Experience creating layouts that adapt to changes in text size and format, and different viewing modes, such as high-contrast mode. Experience designing layouts that are accessible and responsive. Experience conducting accessible and inclusive user research and user testing for visual designs and in the development of products and service. Preferred: Applicants with the following qualifications will be preferred: Experience articulating and incorporating accessibility requirements into user experience and interaction design documents and specifications. Experience conducting usability tests that include participants with disabilities Work details: Work hours are Monday Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm excluding state holidays for a maximum of 40 hours/week. Lunch is 12:00 12:30. The contract assumes an additional 80 hours of unpaid leave in addition to the above per state fiscal year. Work location is majority remote; however, selected candidates will be required to report IN PERSON for an interview at PennDOTs offices at 400 North Street, 5th floor, Harrisburg PA. Engaged candidates will also need to report IN PERSON to pick up equipment as part of onboarding and may be required to report for occasional in-person meetings or training. Selected candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization done at vendor expense prior to engagement. On-site work location is a secured floor. Engaged candidates must bring a check or money order for $20 payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the first day work to pay for a badge. The agency does not provide parking.
