Job Summary:

The Senior Data Architect within the Marketing Technologies domain is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data architecture solutions to support marketing initiatives and strategies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identifying data sources, and creating data models that optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis. The Senior Data Architect will also play a key role in ensuring data governance, data quality, and compliance with regulatory standards within the marketing technology ecosystem.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Proven experience 15 years as a data architect or similar role within the marketing technology domain

In-depth knowledge of data modeling principles, techniques, and tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)

Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

Proficiency in data integration technologies (e.g., ETL tools, data virtualization, API integrations)

Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)

Preferred Experience:

Certification in data management or related field (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, DAMA Certified Data Management Professional)

Experience with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and how to drive key performance indicators

Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics concepts and techniques

Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable, high-performance data architecture solutions that support marketing analytics, customer segmentation, campaign management, and personalization initiatives

Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements and facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis

Collaborate with data engineers and integration specialists to integrate data from various sources (e.g., CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, third-party data providers) into centralized data repositories

Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) within the marketing technology ecosystem

Implement data quality management processes, including data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment, to maintain the accuracy and reliability of marketing data assets

Interface with Quality Assurance teams to ensure cross-functional support of solutions

Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior data architects and data engineering teams, ensuring best practices are followed in data architecture design and implementation

Collaborate with marketing stakeholders, business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and communicate architecture decisions effectively

Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and platforms in the marketing technology landscape and evaluate their potential to enhance data architecture capabilities and drive business outcomes

Identify opportunities to optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval performance through database tuning, indexing strategies, and data partitioning techniques

Document data architecture designs, standards, and guidelines, and effectively communicate them to relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding across the organization

Familiar with software development methodologies Agile/Scrum/Kanban and understanding of enterprise project lifecycle

Experience in developing architectural solutions which contain multiple tiers

Familiar with identity resolution and identity management concepts within MarTech
