| From: Awkash Kumar, Largeton Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description :: Location: 100% REMOTE Length: 9 Months (high probability to extend longer) Start: ASAP Interview: Video USC/GC/EAD Client is looking to migrate their legacy applications which consists of 9 different platforms and migrate everything over to AppDynamics to help align all their internal applications which includes Salesforce, Service Now, SAP, etc. AppDynamics will be doing the physical migration, and they are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with a focus on observability (AppDynamics specifically) and the ability to lead a conversation with employees who defer to tradition when posed with technical challenges. We are looking for a Sr. Observability Engineer with AppDynamics experience and comfortable leading team discussions that drive toward actionable outcomes. This individual will be a technical leader on an agile team consisting of both WWT and Client personnel. Valuable skills include: Knowledge of APM tools, AppDynamics and Dynatrace specifically An understanding of how these tools digest alerts and metrics for other systems to consume and make actionable. Knowledge of automation platforms (Ansible, PowerShell, etc.) Drive team to follow agile best practices. Responsibilities/Job Duties/Job Description: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define observability requirements and objectives. Design and implement monitoring solutions using AppDynamics and other relevant tools to ensure visibility into the performance and health of our systems. Develop custom monitoring metrics, dashboards, and alerts to effectively monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and troubleshoot issues proactively. Continuously optimize and enhance observability tools and processes to meet evolving business needs and technology trends. Analyze monitoring data to identify performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and propose solutions to address them. Work closely with development teams to instrument code for better observability and to integrate monitoring into the CI/CD pipeline. Provide expertise and guidance on observability best practices to teams across the organization. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in observability and monitoring. Required Skills and Experience: Need someone who is a hands-on senior level engineer that is able to understand the whole picture of enterprise observability/automation is REQUIRED. Need someone who has a strong understanding and experience working with AppDynamics is a MUST. Need a strong engineer with a background in automation and solving problems through software is REQUIRED. Need someone who is strong in methodology to push back on the customer is needed or going toe to toe with a design is a MUST. Skills in technical areas which support the deployment and integration of AppDynamics based solutions, including Advanced OS, DB, Storage; Virtualization, Cloud Architectures is REQUIRED. Need someone that can push back when needed and navigate a large environment. Help guide the teams, disciplined transformation approach. Someone who can be a leader and help to guide the team. THIS IS A MUST. Need someone who has a strong understanding of observability, and who understands Open Telemetry on a broader scale. Need someone who has automation experience, and can go in depth as to how they integrate an agent, automation testing, etc. 5+ years of relevant technical IT experience which includes: 5+ years application performance management or development is REQUIRED. 5+ years deploying enterprise management software solutions is REQUIRED. 5+ years deployments across multiple environments (Dev, UAT & PROD) for full project life cycle is REQUIRED. Experience with current SLDC practices including Agile practices, DevOps and CI/CD strategies. Automation Experience with tools such as Ansible and Terraform is REQUIRED. 3+ Years of relevant work history within a large, Enterprise size environment is REQUIRED. Actively keeps abreast of latest trends and best practice in enterprise software sector and the ability to talk authoritatively with customers. Has advanced written and verbal communication skills at all levels of project team engagement. Prioritizes and manages time to deliver on commitments.
