Title : VMware Admin Location : Washington, DC[Hybrid] Type : 6+ month contract Job Description: We are seeking a skilled VMware on AWS Engineer with expertise in Windows environments to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware technologies, AWS cloud infrastructure, and Windows server administration. In this role, you will be responsible for managing VMware environments running on on-prem as well as AWS cloud platform. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage VMware environments on OnPrem & AWS cloud platform. Expertise on VMware High-Availability, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, DRS, vCenter, DVS and vCenter Update Manager Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define architecture, and implement solutions that meet business needs. Installing and managing the 6. 0 and 7.0 ESXi VMware environments. Configure and optimize VMware software-defined data center (SDDC) components, including vSphere, NSX, and vSAN, for performance, scalability, and reliability. Migrate on-premises VMware workloads to VMware Cloud on AWS. Implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity solutions, including VPN and Direct Connect. Monitor and troubleshoot VMware on AWS environments to ensure high availability and performance. Experience in OEM hardware (IBM/HP) & remote connectivity tools like ILO/DRAC/RSA. Integrate VMware environments with Windows-based workloads and services, including Active Directory, SQL Server, and other Microsoft technologies. Implement security best practices and compliance controls for VMware on AWS environments. Automate routine tasks and workflows using scripting languages and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Terraform. Provisioning and Life cycle management for VM, windows servers. Document technical designs, procedures, and configurations. Basic Qualifications 9+ years of experience working with VMware technologies, including vSphere, NSX, and vSAN 4+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure. Must have exposure to management activities in terms of SLA and escalation management. Strong communication and collaboration skills. VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP) and AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
