Mainframe administrator with knowledge in maintaining IBM mainframe with Z/OS and below tools & technologies. ACF2, CA LADP CICS, Performance Analyzer, Fault Analyzer, Fault Manager, Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe systems administration and a passion for maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of our mainframe infrastructure. As a Mainframe Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of mainframe systems and software. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain mainframe hardware and software, including operating systems (e.g., z/OS), subsystems (e.g., CICS, DB2), and utilities. Monitor system performance and capacity, and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and capacity constraints. Implement security measures to protect mainframe systems and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats. Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as system backups, software upgrades, and patch management. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues affecting mainframe systems, including system failures and performance degradation. Collaborate with application developers, database administrators, and other IT teams to ensure the smooth operation and integration of mainframe systems with other platforms and technologies. Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure the availability and recoverability of mainframe systems in the event of a disaster or outage. Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in mainframe administration, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum [X] years of experience as a Mainframe Administrator or similar role in a large-scale enterprise environment. Proficiency in mainframe operating systems, utilities, and subsystems, such as z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, and JES2. Strong knowledge of mainframe hardware, including IBM zSeries servers, DASD, and tape drives. Experience with mainframe security technologies and best practices, including RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
