Or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and Department staff. Experience managing Oracle databases in production and lower environments. Experience in the standardizing and designing of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration (i.e. Using Oracle Enterprise Manger). Experience in performing backups and recovery on Database Management Systems. Experience in configuring database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models. Experience in defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. Experience in optimizing database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost. Experience with writing and maintaining Unix shell scripts. Experience with writing and maintaining Java scripts.
