Role: Senior Security Engineer Cyber Security Location: San Antonio, TX or Irvine, CA Duration: Long Term Contract Description: This role is part of SIRT team - Security Intelligence Response Team. They handle Intrusion Detection and Incident Response for all Capital Group global offices. There are 2 teams; Watch and monitoring team and Engineering Solutions team. This role is part of the engineering solutions team and will build engineering solutions for the Watch and monitoring team. Need very strong Python scripting (data mining and analysing logs using Python), AWS and CI/CD skills. Looking for a Senior Security Engineer with expertise in cyber security analysis, and execution of comprehensive security initiatives. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field Over 8 years of IT experience is required. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a Cyber Security role Strong background working with security technologies: firewalls, intrusion detection, anti-virus, vulnerability scanning and remediation, security log and event management, network traffic analysis, etc. Experience with scripting languages such as Python is essential. Experience in AWS is essential. Experience in data mining and analysing logs using Python is required. Technical knowledge of common information security tools and systems: Firewall/VPN, endpoint protection etc. Hands-on experience configuring multiple operating systems, databases, security platforms, and system integrations. Excellent communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, MCSE, RHCE, CCNP, CCSP) is a plus. Responsibilities: Serve as information security subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into development and operational processes. Perform security risk assessments and lead remediation efforts. Create solutions for security issues. Analyze audit findings and make recommendations to lower risk to acceptable levels. Ensure that security changes comply with company change management policies and procedures. Automate security processes and tasks to achieve efficiency.
