Job Description - Typical Day in the Role Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients. Focused on helping the other Financial Analysts and modeling of the supply chain team. Focusing on a new product in the cloud/cloud hardware space. This person would be running strategic financial modeling to make informed decisions and providing that information to the leadership team in the terms of an interpreted summary/story/presentation/PowerPoint. Key projects: This role will contribute to focusing on a new product in the cloud, cloud hardware. This person would be running strategic financial model to make informed decisions and providing that to the leadership team in the terms of an interpreted summary/story/presentation/PowerPoint. Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of : Develop financial models and analysis (spreadsheet tables, graphs, charts, etc.) used to illustrate technical reports. Analyze financial information to produce forecast of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions. Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability and future trends in investment risks. Present oral and written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations and entire industries. Candidate Requirements Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years financial and/or accounting experience required. Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Ability to work independently and manage ones time. Ability to analyze business trends and insights, and project future revenues and expenses. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software. Performance will be assessed based on specifics on their assigned work and the execution of their timelines and job duties. Quality of work and Meeting Deadlines and providing insight for the modelling and analysis being completed. Work Environment Hybrid. 2-3 days a week on-site at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
