Job Summary

The Azure Cloud Engineer is accountable for Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Office 365 services, across the Enterprise and is reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Services. The Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design and maintenance of solutions developed and deployed through Azure and Microsoft Office 365. This role will be a level 3 support role taking escalations from level 1 and 2 and will provide day to day support for the services being provide through the Azure and Office 365 platform(s). This role will work collaboratively with other roles within Infrastructure Operations to provide a stable and secure platform for presenting services through Azure or Office 365 and will account for the operations required to deliver, run, monitor and recover on the platform. This is a hands-on technical role.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key Duties and Responsibilities)

Provides hands-on engineering, operations and administration of Azure and Office 365 Cloud Infrastructure including and not limited to virtual machines, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and APIs being delivered on the Azure and Office 365 platforms.

Provide technical oversight for delivering services from Azure and Office 365 based on industry best practices and industry standards.

Represent Azure architecture and Office 365 configurations in IT roadmaps, policy and service offerings

Manage production and development environments ensuring system and service availability. Always thinking "What happens if this fails" when you build things

Responsible for designing and administering recovery and monitoring solutions across the Azure and Office 365 platform(s) that align to business continuity objectives or as outlined by our business partners requirements.

Provides guidance and thought leadership on the availability of technology (upcoming, core, deprecated) across the Azure and the Office 365 platform(s) and provide input on the operation, design and engineering of the technology.

Provide recommendations on technology that align with our strategic objectives.

Maintain and update CMDB, architectural reference material, run books, best practice documentation, and procedures.

Preform vendor management duties including billing alignment and structure, coordinate work with 3rd parties and to provide reporting on consumption, adoption, cost, etc

Provide knowledge transfer and operational oversight to level 1 and level 2
