Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Lake Mary, FL (Hybrid) Position Type: Remote to Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite) Rate: $45/hr Responsibilities: 1. Perform security patching on cloud infrastructure to ensure compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities. 2. Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure resources, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. 3. Conduct cost projection and optimization analyses to maximize efficiency and reduce expenditure. 4. Engage in capacity planning activities to anticipate resource needs and scale infrastructure accordingly. 5. Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency. 6. Monitor AWS environments for performance, availability, and security using appropriate tools and technologies. 7. Provide 24/7 support to ensure continuous availability of cloud infrastructure. 8. Integrate and monitor Splunk for log management and security monitoring purposes. Expected Deliverables: 1. Prepare architecture documentation outlining the design and configuration of cloud environments. 2. Implement environment tagging, standardization, and configuration management for improved organization and consistency. 3. Generate AWS inventory reports to track resource utilization and identify areas for optimization. 4. Produce capacity reports to facilitate informed decision-making regarding resource allocation. 5. Provide cost projection and optimization reports to optimize cloud spending and budget allocation. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience working as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS. - Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience with security patching. - Proficiency in infrastructure provisioning, automation, and scripting. - Experience with AWS monitoring tools and techniques. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Splunk integration and monitoring experience is preferred. - Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
