Utilize detailed knowledge of the OSI model for network communication. 2. Apply knowledge of link-layer, network-layer, and transport-layer protocols for efficient interoperability and communication. 3. Create IP addressing schemes to support current design requirements and provide future growth. 4. Manage path selection in BGP using prefix-lists and route-maps. 5. Provide Quality of Service for sensitive network traffic. 6. Create loop free layer 2 networks using Spanning Tree protocols including RSTP, RPVST+, and MSTP. 7. Implement and manage traffic limiting features such as traffic policing using class-maps and access-lists. 8. Perform/analyze packet captures; use industry standard tools (Wireshark) to determine causes of network anomalies. 9. Configure network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, wireless access-points and controllers, firewalls, and other security appliances from various vendors including Cisco, Client/Aruba/ Fortinet, and Meraki. 10. Provide, support and manage VPN services for remote access and site to site. 11. Utilize excellent understanding of protocols such as ARP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, IGMP, multicast routing, PIM sparse-mode, PIM dense-mode while configuring and maintaining CLIENT and district networks. 12. Compare and purchase network hardware, such as routers, switches, modems and firewalls. 13. Research and implement network software, such as network drivers and monitoring applications. 14. Make use of excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills to interact with members of various departments. 15. Work with the Network Systems Engineers to implement and troubleshoot systems for the CLIENT and supported districts. 16. Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed on the network. 17. Maintains technical knowledge by attending relevant conferences, trainings, webinars and reviewing publications. 18. Provide training to CLIENT and member district technical staff as needed. 19. Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction regarding the use of technology as it relates to the goals of the CLIENT and its member districts. 20. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Technology Infrastructure Supervisor or his/her designee. 21. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school preferred. 2. Networking or Professional-level-IT certification required 3. At least six years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. 4. Experience with Windows server environments 5. VMWare and Storage Area Network management experience 6. Route/Switch experience (Cisco and Aruba preferred). 7. Enterprise wireless network experience (Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki preferred). 8. Firewalling experience (Fortinet and Cisco firewalls preferred). 9. Enterprise VOIP experience (Cisco and Fortinet preferred). 10. Excellent interior/exterior gateway routing protocol (knowledge including OSPF, EIGRP and BGP required) 11. Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills 12.
