Role: Senior Azure API Engineer Locations: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Contract Note: Candidate needs to be in the office 3 Days every week. Local or candidates from nearby states Only. Job Description: A highly skilled Senior API Engineer with a strong background in Azure. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 9 years of experience in API engineering, with a focus on designing, developing, and maintaining APIs on the Azure platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of robust and scalable API solutions that drive business growth and enhance customer experiences. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement APIs on the Azure platform to support various business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define API specifications, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Architect API solutions that adhere to best practices, scalability, and security standards. Integrate APIs with existing systems, applications, and third-party services to enable seamless data exchange and interoperability. Optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability through continuous monitoring, testing, and performance tuning. Implement security measures such as authentication, authorization, and encryption to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API functionality, performance, and integration in a timely manner. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in API engineering and Azure cloud services. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency. Qualifications: 8 to 9 years of experience in software development, with a focus on API engineering. Proficiency in designing and developing APIs using Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and other Azure services. Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles, HTTP protocols, and JSON/XML data formats. Experience with API security mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS. Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Relevant certifications in Azure cloud services or API development (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are preferred.
