Hello Title : QA Automation Engineer position Location: Remote Duration : 6-12 Months Rate: $45/HR on c2c . -Note: Experience with at least one of the following JavaScript-based testing platforms/frameworks: NodeJS, Cypress, Mocha/Chai, and Postman. SUMMARY: The IT QA Automation Engineer is responsible for working on project-related items, reviewing requirements, creating, and executing Test cases manually, and will also be responsible for creating and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and accuracy of software applications. This includes developing, maintaining, and executing both functional and automated tests, analysing results, and documenting test results. As the IT QA Automation Engineer, I will also be required to troubleshoot issues with existing automation scripts. The successful candidate will be able to identify software defects, document them, and execute test cases to ensure product quality. The Engineer works closely with the agile team to ensure quality and timely delivery of products. This position will require offering improvements in process and coverage as well as coaching and monitoring the work of other QA Engineers to ensure a quality product. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality Testing To create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts, both manual and automated, and to revise as needed to reflect changing requirements. To create and execute SQL statements to validate data within our various databases. To create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for software applications. To participate in source code control, bug tracking, and software release activities as required for automation. To execute automated functional and end-to-end tests for each software release using Azure DevOps. To troubleshoot issues with existing automation scripts and fix the automation scripts. To perform manual testing when necessary or requested. To analyse the results of automated tests and document findings. To utilize tools within an automated test framework to assist in testing of the product. Use defect tracking tools to log and clearly describe defects and conditions for reproducing them. Experience working on Agile teams that release at least every two weeks. Communication To participate in regular status meetings with the project team. To communicate relevant project information to QA team members, QA team lead, IT App Dev Manager/Director, and relevant stakeholders. To translate business requirements into documented, repeatable test cases. To contribute to developing test cases for user training if required by project implementation. To proactively attempt to resolve issues and escalate when necessary. Technical Understanding Experience with at least one of the following JavaScript-based testing platforms/frameworks: NodeJS, Cypress, Mocha/Chai, and Postman. Prefer experience in Web technologies HTML, JSON, XPath, CSS Selector. Cross-browser testing experience for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Prefer experience using different technology stacks to automate front-end, back-end, and web services (SOAP and REST). Prefer experience in source code management using git and Azure DevOps. Fast learner and able to handle multiple work streams as needed. Willingness to switch around efforts between Manual execution and Automated testing based on project needs. Be motivated to meet commitments and deliver the highest value possible. Passion for quality, exceptional attention to detail, strong problem solver Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to write queries to retrieve data from SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle to validate test cases within an associated database. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for complying with IT security requirements and policies. Responsible for safeguarding related IT passwords. Responsible for notifying of any IT security incidents per policy 16.0 Information Security Incident Management. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education - College degree, preferably a B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience performing testing and certification of application and system functionality. Experience Three (3) or more years of work experience in application, functional, or system testing in the IT development/Quality Assurance field; OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Expert with all aspects of Microsoft technologies and adept with Microsoft Office products. QA Automation Experience One (1) or more years of work experience with UI and/or API testing automation and building test scripts. Required non-technical proficiencies and knowledge - Critical skills include excellent organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; the stamina to work in a fast-paced environment; the flexibility to meet changing needs and multiple tasks; Excellent follow-through skills with strong attention to detail; Adaptive and open to frequent changes in a work environment and prioritization; Efficiently able to work independently and as part of a team. Required technical proficiencies/knowledge - Familiar with using QA tools, writing test plans, test cases, test scripts, automated test scripts, and a good understanding of QA methodologies. Familiar with web testing technologies, PC hardware platforms, and MS Operating Systems. Related experience with client/server databases and reporting tools; enhanced knowledge of database structure and design; thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and change management; expert with all aspects of Microsoft Office and other Microsoft products.
