| Please share USC/GC java consultant with AWS Location:- Remote (PST hours) ABOUT THE ROLE: JD: Project or Assignment summary: As a member of the Student Billing and Receivables team, the Senior Application Developer is responsible for full life-cycle web application development activities for our Consolidated Billing application and associated subsystems. General duties include collaborating with businessowners and technical staff to elicit requirements, analysis, technical design, programming, testing, and documentation of applications using service-oriented architecture (SOA) concepts and programming techniques. The Senior Developer will work closely with IT Architects, developers, production support and customers in the ongoing implementation of web-based application development services including performance optimization, mobile platform implementation, security, usability and accessibility. Provides after hours support as assigned or requested. Reports to the Manager, Student Billing and Receivables, and completes highly complex assignments independently. Incumbent reports status on a regular basis or as requested; raises matters of importance to leadership. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or related) OR five years of relevant professional experience and education. Five or more years experience in the design and development of complex, mission critical or enterprise applications using large-scale relational database(s) Experience with n-tier distributed technologies such as Java, J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, JDBC, Spring, Struts, Tomcat, Linux, Angular, NodeJS and Windows. Experience designing, developing, implementing, publishing, versioning and securing APIs. Experience programming with SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML and related technologies such as XPath, XML schema, XSLT, JSON, and Postman. Experience and good knowledge of AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda functions, DynamoDB, SQS, Cloud Watch, Microservices, Docker, ECS and Serverless Architecture etc. Implement AWS Lambda functions in Node.js or Python. Ability to work independently on medium to large scale, moderately complex projects with minimal supervision. Knowledge of SDLC/ALM tools such as GitHub, JIRA, and CI/CD. Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates highly complex programs and systems for defined and/or assigned areas through advanced application programming concepts and industry standards. Analyzes existing programs or works to formulate logic for new systems, devises logic related to highly complex procedures, performs complex application programming including comprehensive data analysis. Defines standardized test plans to thoroughly test functional and technical aspects of applications; applies technical expertise to optimize application and to improve overall performance. Applies deep technical knowledge and experience to improve application development, maintenance and system standards. Provides deep expertise every phase life cycle; promotes use of structured methods; defines and documents structured methods. Participates in the identification, evaluation and selection of frameworks, products, tools and processes to improve the management of life-cycle activities. Develops detailed project plans for complex projects that includes interdisciplinary teams or resources; determines resource needs and timing of delivery; continually assesses work plan and related interdependencies; develops and maintains master project plan, as assigned. Completes complex tasks without guidance; provides consultation to other staff members for area of expertise; uses creativity in developing technical solutions. Fosters collaborative professional relationships across multiple business functions within organization, core business functions and communities of practice which enable value-added solutions that achieve process efficiency. Delivers deep expertise for assigned area(s) in reviewing and resolving complex problems or incidents. Provides guidance to staff in the analysis of complex issues while keeping leadership apprised of status resolution. Communicates internally regarding process and procedures; engages appropriate internal functions to resolve issues; collaborates with business partners, end users and technical teams to fulfill request. Provides technical and/or functional support after normal working hours on an on-call or as needed basis; assists others with complex issues. Possess the verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization; ability to use standard English grammar and punctuation. Knowledge of distributed architectures, design patterns, experience conducting proof-of-concept, developing prototyping and building reference models. Experience with designing and implementing cross-cutting business concerns, such as authentication, authorization, monitoring, logging, governance, and documentation. Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Maven, Team City, SPLUNK development. (Preferred) Knowledge of mainframe application programming languages, techniques and associated tools including COBOL,OCS/CTG/CTS, XML,DB2, Endevor, Expediter, SQL, zOS, DB2, File Manager, Debug, Fault Analyzer and the ability to effectively apply skills to leverage emerging technologies.(Preferred) Experience writing API Unit Test cases using Postman or any automated testing tool such as Selenium.
