Digital Business Analyst

Job Description:

Work with major functional areas of the business to understand and document change requests submitted to the IT organization.

Knowledgeable on integrations with internal and external applications; research any dependencies and work on system design plan with solution architect and developers.

Review and analyse how changes to the business process and / or business needs will impact technical requirements throughout the system and organization.

Shepherd ideas through the System Development Life Cycle to ensure new business processes and system changes are documented, developed, tested, and promoted successfully

Create Software Requirements Specifications, use cases, technical requirements, wireframes, system flow diagrams, and other documentation for Guidewire configurations and custom software development projects.

Clarify requirements prior to delivery of documentation to the Application Delivery team.

Become an expert on Guidewire systems and our system implementations.

Work with Operations team to triage production issues prior to development involvement.

Be the liaison between functional leads, development teams and support teams.

Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) sessions during UAT phase.

Support production releases Perform smoke testing

Work with the QA team to ensure test cases are current, correct, and cover alternative paths for existing and new system functionality.

Required Skills

5+ years of hands-on experience as an IT Business analyst in Guidewire Digital Portal projects: Product navigation, Product model, Policy or Claims or Billing Transactions, Integrations, OOTB functionality and integrations, Business rules, Troubleshooting incidents/issues etc.

Should have experience on Either Personal or Commercial Line

Hands-on experience in one or more products: Customer Engage, Producer Engage, Customer Engage, GPA, AMP, Claims portal

Thorough knowledge and experience of agile methodologies

Skilled at writing detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), use cases, and wireframes.

Strong background using defect-ticketing software (such as Rally, JIRA, etc.) to document software requirements, user stories, defects for development teams.

Experience working daily in cross-functional teams.

Skilled at negotiating consensus among departments that request sometimes conflicting or inconsistent software requirements.

Proficient using browser web development tools.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage time effectively and work on tasks with competing priority

Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Strong analytical skills and a self-starter attitude required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Familiarity with HTML, XML, SOAP APIs, UX Design

P&C Insurance industry experience is must.

Job Description:

Technical Skills:

10 years of Software development experience using web technologies

3 years experience implementing Guidewire Digital applications*

Highly skilled in JavaScript and React framework

Experience with automated unit testing using Jest/Enzyme or similar frameworks

Hands-on with the ability to quickly architect and implement technical solutions

Experience work with server-side technologies (JSON/RPC, REST)

Other Skills/Experience:

Effective communication and collaboration skills

Experience leading a small to medium implementation teams

BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Highly motivated, result-driven, and tenacious problem solver

Position Description

Configure, build & develop Guidewire components using GOSU, Integration plugins, messaging, REST APIs, etc.

Apply GW coding standards, best practices and design patterns to deliver solutions.

Coordinate with business users, business analysts, and team members to understand the business requirements and configure complex business rules and workflows.

Trouble shoot & resolve technical issues, provide solutions & workarounds to critical requirements.

Adhere to enterprise security and performance requirements.

Identify risks and opportunities which can affect program and project deliverables with follow-through on mitigation, resolution, and action plans.

Prepare and enhance design documents that would be needed to support product configuration Field mapping, Data definition, rules definition.

The Work:

Bring Latest GW offering, products, innovation, and best practice to the table.

Work with Customer Architects, Lead Engineers, Solution architect and technical leads to identify the solutions that are relevant to business problems and targeted architecture.

Identify, create, extend, and maintain reusable architectural patterns & solutions and to facilitate development of future solutions.

OneShield Developer

At least 4-5 years of experience with designing and deploying insurance products on OSPAS (OneShield Policy Administration System) with overall 9+ years experience in OOPS, Java, SQL etc.

Must have good experience in Rating, UI, Forms, Workflow, QPP/DEC and Rating worksheets with good debugging skills.

Responsible for maintenance and development of the application using OneShield Dragon Designer Tool.

Ability to identify and create specs for the OneShield PAS configuration and Integration changes that are needed based on requirements.

Identify the best practices and standards for OneShield Product development with respect to workflows, rules and other modules.

Self-motivated with an ability to work in cross platform technologies and ability to multi-task.

Good experience in PL/SQL, JAVA and OOPS.

P&C Insurance experience in highly preferred.

Should be a strong team player to lead and cross train the skills with others.
