Job Title: Accessibility Engineer

Job Location:
Remote (US-based only)

Job duration: 6-12 Months Contract

Top 3-5 Technical Skills:

Section 508 testing experience -Min 3+ yrs of experience in Conducting in-depth WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A/AA, Section 508 and ADA compliance assessments via manual reviews, using automated test tools, assistive technologies. Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG 2.1, Section 508, ARIA, and ADA accessibility requirements and Compile reports concerning failures and provide possible resolutions with developers
Experience in assistive technologies used for the web such as JAWS/NVDA and Voice over and in mobile such as Talkback and Voiceover.
Good knowledge of WAI-ARIA standards & implementation, UI & UX.
Experience with Salesforce
AWS is a huge plus

Experience with Agile methodologies

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze technical and functional requirements, understanding their needs and translating them into Salesforce solutions.

Conduct workshops and interviews to elicit requirements, document technical specifications, and identify gaps or areas for improvement.

Design scalable and efficient technical solutions that leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform.

Offer suggestions and recommendations during all phases of the engagement to ensure the intent of business requirements is understood by all stakeholders.

Make recommendations based on the most up-to-date release offering

Develop and execute test plans, and test scripts, and perform system testing to validate the configured solutions.

Implement quality assurance and testing services to ensure that all information systems, products, and services meet the organization's standards and end-user requirements.

Conduct functional and regression testing to ensure the integrity and reliability of the Salesforce platform.

Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues or bugs identified.

Experience Working on Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) or any CRM is preferred.

Conduct detailed and comprehensive accessibility testing on websites, web applications, mobile applications, and other digital products to identify potential accessibility barriers and issues.

Evaluate digital assets against accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.0/2.1 guidelines, and ensure they comply with relevant accessibility laws and regulations, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Familiarity with various assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice recognition software, magnifiers) to understand how differently-abled users interact with digital content.

Utilize automated accessibility testing tools and manual techniques to identify accessibility problems and provide guidance on remediation.

Thoroughly document accessibility issues, and their impact on users, and suggest solutions to facilitate communication with development teams and designers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, design, product management) to address accessibility concerns throughout the development lifecycle.

Provide clear and actionable guidance to development teams and designers on how to resolve accessibility issues effectively.

Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

Educate and train team members and developers on accessibility principles and best practices to foster a culture of accessibility awareness.

Participate in design and code reviews to ensure accessibility considerations are incorporated from the beginning of the development process.

Perform regular accessibility audits on existing digital assets to identify and address any new accessibility issues.

Continuously monitor accessibility trends and user feedback to identify areas of improvement and proactively address potential issues.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in CS or EE.

Good understanding of SQA methodologies.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in an Agile environment is strongly desired.

Strong structured testing knowledge and thorough understanding of quality assurance testing applications and concepts.

Great attention to detail and ability to identify, isolate, and document defects in complex software features.

Customer-focused Seeks to understand clients business requirements and provides input to serve the client.

Experience in software deployments.

Strong analytical, good verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, and influencing skills.
