Data Architect This is hybrid - 2 days a week onsite in Harrisburg ( PA and Maryland Candidates only) Needs to be a strong communicator in structure, language, and verbal clarity. Position Overview The Data Architect is pivotal in setting the direction for the organization's data architecture, modeling, and data strategies. They are responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing the organization's data architecture and databases. This role plays a key role in ensuring that business data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of the organization. Essential Job Functions The Data Architect will demonstrate competencies across four key dimensions: Data Design and Strategy Develop and maintain the organization's data architecture, definitions, standards, and procedures. Design and implement data solutions that align with the company's needs and business objectives. Lead initiatives to streamline existing data resources, aligning with business processes and minimizing data redundancy. Database Management and Optimization Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Monitor database performance, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required. Assemble large, complex sets of data into coherent, functional analytic systems. Integration and Migration Coordinate with the IT team and business stakeholders to ensure new data solutions are consistent with the existing ecosystem and migrate or integrate as necessary. Assist with the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions. Data Security and Governance Ensure that data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance. Enforce and refine data governance policies and procedures. Credentials and Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of seven years of experience in data design, data architecture, and database administration. Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or others related to specific databases or technologies can be advantageous. Skills In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data mining. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data-related languages. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong analytical skills for translating business needs into data solutions. Competencies Strong problem-solving abilities, able to tackle issues promptly and efficiently. Ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong project management and leadership in directing data initiatives. Characteristics Forward-thinking, with an eye towards the future of data and business intelligence. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data integrity. Demonstrates proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
