Interview is Web or In-Person Start and End Dates: 03/25/24 To 05/24/24 Short Description Georgia State University (GSU) IIT seeks an experienced Cisco voice engineer to migrate the existing Cisco Unified Communication R11.5 Platform IP telephony system to R14.5 on new M6 BCS currently installed servers. Complete Description GSU IIT seeks an experienced Cisco voice engineer to migrate the existing Cisco Unified Communication R11.5 Platform IP telephony system to R14.5 on new M6 BCS currently installed servers. This position will work closely with various GSU IIT departments and Cisco to achieve these goals and complete the project on time. Project overview: The Cisco Unified Communication Platform is currently in production and operational. For this project phase, we are proceeding with the upgrade from 11.5 on M4 BCS and M5 BCS servers to R14.5 on current M5 servers and newly installed M6 servers. This position is expected to serve as the technical lead of this project. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Lead the system deployment of VOIP system upgrades across the system. This includes but is not limited to, installing the ISO and migrating all servers from M4 to M6 servers via PCD, running cluster-wide Readiness Upgrade task flow, and running Precheck COP files. Upgrade Publisher and (3) Subscriber nodes; upgrade Unity and other associated Cisco servers. Collect relevant data from all pertinent systems to be used as part of the implementation. Testing and validation of the system. Identify and ability to implement enhanced security functionality within the system. Provide operational support associated with post-deployment. Participate in project meetings. Provide system documentation training and handoff post-completion. Tune the environment to ensure the continued high performance of the system. Some after-hours and/or weekend work will be necessary for the implementation. Occasional on-site visits may be required to provide operational support. Ensure the system meets industry standards and is hardened to meet industry security standards. Skills required: Experience in designing, installing, and configuring large-scale voice communications hardware and software. Understanding of firewall policies and stateful connections Deep knowledge of network security, best practices, and protocols Experience with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, QSIG, SIP, H323, MGCP, and SCCP voice networking topologies. Experience working in a VMware virtual environment. Experience configuring voice gateways that include dial peers, SRST, SIP, H323, and MGCP protocols. Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong ability to troubleshoot complex telephony environments. Knowledge of VOIP encryption using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) over TSL and of Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP). Familiarity with HIPPA, SOX, GLBA, PCI, or other compliance guidelines is preferred. CCNA certification required, CCNP Preferred Note: This resource must be local to Georgia.
