From: Sagar Kale, Digital Dhara [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role : Network Support Engineer Location : San Diego, CA (This is an onsite role, this role requires the associate to travel to the customer location) Duration : 6 Months CTH Should be able to analyze existing hardware, software, and networking systems; create and implement scalable Cisco based networks according to client specifications; and test and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment. The overall job purpose is to provide reliable and efficient support and provisioning to current customer network operations and project support. The work duties include support (troubleshooting and fixing issues), major changes and new deployment. Work needs to be done in City of San Diego locations and remotely from home office. The scope of network infrastructure includes transport WAN network connecting City sites, access LAN network in offices and other locations, corporate WiFi network, Internet gateways and network infrastructure of data centers. Customer has a number of sites with 24/7 operations, thus work outside of regular business hours, on weekends and holidays will be required. Direct interaction with end users is integral part of the job to resolve incidents and prepare and execute changes. Responsibilities: Administering and managing infrastructure devices including routers, switches, load balancers, wireless controllers and access points. Configure, standardize, monitor, operate, maintain, install, administer, troubleshoot and manage LAN/WAN, WiFi Networking environment and devices. Establishing standard rule sets and providing technical analysis, performance optimization, network utilization analysis and overall management of all network infrastructure Responding to and resolving incident tickets and outages Responding to and resolving change request actions Performing network improvement and clean-up Monitor network to proactively detect anomalies and work on finding and elimination of their root cause Maintaining and evaluating policies and procedures for Network systems and services Auditing and logging all traffic flow using tools to ensure availability of services Creating and maintaining AS-IS documentation for network infrastructure, including site diagrams, circuits inventory and other operational information. Create device configuration for new deployments using pre-existing templates or creating new templates where needed. Maintaining access control lists (ACL) to grant and restrict network access appropriately to users and processes per authorization rules Installing hardware and software tools, applying security measures to network infrastructure devices Making changes, upgrades, and patches to infrastructure devices while keeping downtime to a minimum. Responding to, accomplishing, and documenting change request and incident ticket actions Working in a 24*7 operating model in shifts Good understanding and following of ITIL best practices to keep services within SLA and achieve high end user satisfaction. Understanding of network infrastructure concepts like VLANs, WLAN, VPC, VDC, STP/VTP, QoS and ability to create or update devices configuration accordingly. Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) in Cisco equipment. Work with device manufacturers and circuit providers on handling cases required their involvement. Use monitoring tools (Solarwinds Orion suite or similar) to assess network health and report abnormalities. Maintaining operational documentation - creating and maintaining SOP, CMDB and asset records, run books, site diagrams. Follow change control procedures to create, get approved and execute change requests. Education: Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Qualifications: 4-6 years of directly related experience in network support, analysis and design. Experience of work with Cisco hardware is required. Working knowledge of Cisco ASR and ISR routers, Catalyst and Nexus switches. Knowledge of Cisco WiFi platform (9800 controllers and associated WAPs) is strongly desired. Extensive experience of support and provisioning of routers, switches and firewalls Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level of knowledge High level of customer service skills Experience with creating network diagrams using drawing tolls like Microsoft Visio or equivalent. Able to work as part of a team and capable of working supervision Experience in working with ServiceNow help desk platform (incidents, requests, changes, asset management).
