Title: Life Sciences Program Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (1-2 days onsite in a week)

Duration: 12+ Months

Description:

In this role you will partner with Process Owners, Portfolio Leaders, Project Managers and IT Executives to drive the execution of our IT projects, ensuring on time and on schedule delivery, govern projects to our processes, ensure tools support our process and ensure portfolios are aligned to our strategic plans and IT roadmaps. It is important that you possess strong stakeholder management skills to manage competing priorities and expectations. Understanding key project management concepts like waterfall & agile delivery, the principles of PMBOK, portfolio prioritization, IT governance and SDLC are critical to the success of this role. While the focus of this role is managing the PMO, you must be willing to actively engage in managing large cross-functional IT programs, as necessary.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Driving the definition and consistent documentation of our IT Project Management processes

Creating a standard project management approach to agile & waterfall projects

Teaching global teams on project management principles

Executing quarterly IT portfolio reviews

Overseeing maintenance of Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) toolset to support processes

Working with Functional PPM tool owner to drive future enhancements

Governing projects to standard processes

Identifying disparate processes and harmonizing across functional units

Maintaining backlog of project management process improvements and prioritizing

Staying abreast of Project & Portfolio Management Industry trends

Defining requirements for Portfolio & PMO dashboards

Identifying project & portfolio management KPIs and trends and creating strategies to correct negative trends

Actively supporting and driving major IT initiatives as required

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration

10+ years experience of PMO Leadership required

7-10 years experience working with Project & Portfolio Management software

10+ years experience managing a global team required

Demonstrated experience driving functional improvements in PMO required

Demonstrated experience driving / managing major IT initiatives required

Excellent communication skills required

A strong customer centric approach to managing change is required

Experience working in a highly regulated industry required

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Demonstrated experience negotiating priorities with multiple senior stakeholders

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines

PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred

Knowledge of SAP is preferred

Ability to travel internationally is required
