Cloud FinOps Engineer- Duration: 1 year + Location: Plano, TX LOCAL ONLY They are only interested in local candidates in the event of local meetings that may arise but this is a mostly remote role. Min 5+ years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps/Cloud Spend optimization What projects, scope, etc Describe your experience designing, deploying and managing AWS Infrastructure & security services (EC2, ELB, Guardduty, Config, Inspector, Security. Describe your experience in working cross-functionally to implement and manage cross-cutting initiatives. Do you hold any FinOps Certifications Skills: Cloud FinOps Engineer Strong technical knowledge in designing, deploying and managing AWS Infrastructure & security services (EC2, ELB, Guardduty, Config, Inspector, Securi. Hands on experience in Terraform IaaC deployments and ability to implement security automation. Hands on experience with FinOps frameworks, tools, chargeback models/mechanisms Requirements: Deep technical expertise across multiple technical domains including cloud computing, security, identity and access management and IT infrastructure. Strong technical knowledge in designing, deploying and managing AWS Infrastructure & security services (EC2, ELB, Guardduty, Config, Inspector, Security Hub, RDS, Route53, S3, vpc, vpn, tgw, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, eventbridge, etc.) using best practices. Hands on experience in Terraform IaaC deployments and ability to implement security automation. Support the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, show back, chargeback and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical owners. Analyze, report, and produce meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools, data lake, CMDB, and other asset inventories as applicable. Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes. Developing and implementing strategies to optimize cloud costs. Evaluate and investigate data patterns to derive insightful knowledge to inform strategic and operational decisions. Collaborating with finance, operations, and technology teams to drive cost optimization initiatives. Analyzing cloud usage patterns and trends to identify areas for optimization. Recommending changes to cloud service usage, pricing models, and purchasing options Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast and track cloud costs. Working with cloud service providers to negotiate pricing and contracts. Support reports and dashboards to track and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders. Develop Governance, Reporting, Processes, and Culture to support and enforce FinOps KPIs. Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and processes, and CI/CD systems. Experience with cloud containers and/or Kubernetes security best practices. What You Bring to The Team Min 5+ years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps/Cloud Spend optimization Good knowledge of AWS product portfolio, and commercial models Knowledge of the core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, Chargeback, invoicing, showback, chargeback, accruals etc.) Ability to properly structure, model, and visualize cloud platform data to support decision-making. Do deep dives to dissect issues further or identify opportunities. Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to leaders. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Aptitude to learn and understand new concepts and technologies to become an expert in the field. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Experience in working cross-functionally to implement and manage cross-cutting initiatives.
