Education / Work Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of software engineering or related experience We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to support exciting projects with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA. This position will work on-site in Pasadena, it will also require travel to customer sites periodically. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop data processing software for a special studies ground team to implement in a U.S. Government enterprise architecture Package and deliver integrated SW builds into Docker images and deploy the images into the U.S. Government enterprise architecture Responsible for all stages of the software product life cycle planning, analyzing, coding, designing, integrating, testing, deploying and providing support for production Define software use-cases, requirements and interfaces Mandatory Skills: 1. Experience developing with one or more of the following technologies (Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Shell/Bash) 2. Software development experience in team environment using software configuration management software 3. Ability to establish and follow an enterprise framework for all phases of software development: requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and delivery 4. Knowledgeable of Cloud Solutions (Amazon Web Services (AWS)) and CI/CD Pipeline 5. Experienced with software support tools for version control, issue tracking, collaboration, automation, containerization, document generation (JIRA, GIT, Artifactory, Confluence, Jenkins, Docker, Sphinx) Optional Skills: 1. Advanced degrees and certifications 2. Familiar with JPL, NASA, or DoD practices and standards 3. Knowledgeable of software languages (XML, JSON, Java, CUDA, Markup) 4. Understands data file formats and image processing software and tools 5. Familiar with software code analyzers/audit tools (Coverity, Semmle) 6. Experienced with utilizing mathematical models and algorithms related to image chain processing 7. Ability and willingness to learn new software skills as needed to perform project tasks 8. Ability to work in a complex multi-task, schedule-driven environment 9.
