Proficiency in SQL and experience with database performance tuning. Experience with database security, including access controls, encryption, and auditing. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 or similar are a plus Competencies: Unix Administration, Database Technology Experience (Years): 6-8 Essential Skills: Install, configure, and maintain DB2 (LUW) database software and related tools. Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and views based on application requirements. Monitor and optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and system tuning. Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing Desirable Skills: Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures. Troubleshoot database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data integrity issues. Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema design and SQL queries. Provide technical support and guidance to development, testing, and operational teams. Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration and DB2 technology.
