The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is seeking talented Talend Senior ETL Lead Developer to lead the development efforts of converting an existing ETL system to the Talend ETL technology for approximately one year. The position requires the candidate to take a lead role in bringing this new Talend project from initiation to completion and all tasks in between.

Responsibilities

Using the Talend ETL toolset, to create new and maintain existing ETL jobs.

Design and implement ETL for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, such as: Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.

Design and develop database tables necessary along with the necessary constraints as per the requirement.

Collaborate with Team members to understand source system structures and data retrieval methods/techniques, and tools within the organization.

Support the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages like SQL, Bash, Python, etc.

Clean, validate, and transform data to conform to target schema and quality standards.

Work with the team to execute data quality improvement plans.

Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain data integrity and process efficiency.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience with Talend Data Fabric in a professional environment. 

Demonstrable experience working for a health data organization performing ETL Development activities.

Demonstrable experience leading database, data warehouse, ETL, business intelligence, or software development.

Experience in a lead role developing projects using Talend with Data Integration and Cloud Integration working with large datasets.

Highly familiar with Talend Data Fabric tool, ESB, and MDM development tasks and processes, particularly creating ETL from Technical specifications and converting ETL from other third part ETL tools and other frameworks.

Experience with cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos.

Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.

Able to create/modify tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other DB objects.

Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA policies and working with PII and PHI sensitive data.

Effective at managing competing priorities and can work independently with little or no supervision.

Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, along with excellent documentation skills.

Comfortable working under tight deadlines while maintaining well organized, detailed, and process-oriented work habits.
