Role: Java Developer with Guidewire experience Location: Chicago, IL (Strictly Locals Only) Duration: Contract Key skills: Guidewire, Java, AWS Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Java Developer with expertise in Guidewire to join our dynamic team. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions using Java technologies, with a focus on Guidewire platform customization and integration. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java development and hands-on experience with Guidewire applications. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based software applications. Customize and configure Guidewire applications to meet business requirements. Integrate Guidewire applications with external systems and third-party tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement features. Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing software applications, ensuring high performance and reliability. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in Java development and Guidewire platform. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Contribute to documentation efforts, including technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials. Assist in the evaluation and selection of software tools and technologies to enhance development processes and productivity. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Java Developer, with at least 10 of hands-on experience in Java development. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter is required. Proficiency in Java EE technologies, including Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS, and EJB. Familiarity with web services (SOAP, REST) and API integration. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL. Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.
