Role: Business Analyst in insurance domain Location: Chicago, IL ( Strictly Local profiles only) Duration: Contract Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Business Analyst with experience in the insurance domain to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and translating business needs into technical specifications. This role requires strong analytical skills, domain knowledge in insurance, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, gather requirements, and document business processes within the insurance domain. Analyze and interpret complex data sets related to insurance products, policies, claims, and underwriting processes. Translate business requirements into clear and concise technical specifications, including user stories, use cases, and functional requirements documents. Work closely with software development teams to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with project timelines and objectives. Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for process improvement and optimization within insurance operations. Assist in the testing and validation of insurance systems and applications to ensure accuracy and functionality. Provide subject matter expertise and support to stakeholders during the implementation and rollout of new insurance products or system enhancements. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices within the insurance domain, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience (10 years) working as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry. In-depth knowledge of insurance products, processes, regulations, and terminology. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven recommendations. Experience with business process modeling tools and techniques (e.g., BPMN, UML). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in requirements management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or domain-specific insurance certifications are a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Familiarity with insurance industry software and platforms (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management systems). Knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
