Duration: 6 Months+ Please include DL or Visa copy with submittal. Lead a team of SRE engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in implementing SRE best practices and methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Operations, and Product Management to integrate SRE principles into the software development lifecycle. Define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets to maintain a high level of reliability while balancing business needs. Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to proactively identify and mitigate system failures and performance bottlenecks. Drive automation initiatives to streamline deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes, improving overall system reliability and efficiency. Conduct regular post-incident reviews and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement and prevent recurrence of issues. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the SRE team and broader organization through training, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in SRE and DevOps practices, recommending and implementing relevant tools and methodologies. Collaborate with senior leadership to communicate the impact of SRE initiatives on business outcomes and drive alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Experience Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Prior experience working as an SRE or in a related role is essential. This includes hands-on experience with implementing SRE best practices, managing incidents, defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and establishing monitoring and alerting systems. Leadership and Management: Demonstrated experience leading teams in a technical environment. This includes managing and mentoring engineers, setting team goals, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Software Engineering Background: A strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices is crucial. Experience with software development methodologies, version control systems, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. DevOps and Automation Skills: Proficiency in DevOps practices and automation tools is important for driving efficiency and reliability across the organization. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management tools, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is valuable. Project Management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute projects related to SRE adoption initiatives. Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum, as well as tools like Jira or Trello, is beneficial. Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership are essential. Experience in stakeholder management, presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and fostering collaboration between development and operations teams is highly valuable.
