Role: Open text Developer / Architect Location: Chicago, IL Duration: Contract Key Skills: Open text Content Server, Java Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Position Overview: As an OpenText Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions using OpenText technologies to meet our clients' business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality software solutions that drive value and enhance user experiences. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, understand business processes, and identify opportunities for leveraging OpenText technologies to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Design, develop, customize, and implement solutions using OpenText products, including but not limited to OpenText Content Server, Extended ECM Platform, Documentum, Archive Center, and other related technologies. Develop and maintain custom components, workflows, forms, configurations, and integrations within the OpenText ecosystem to support business processes and meet project objectives. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, system administrators, and quality assurance testers, to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of OpenText solutions with existing systems and infrastructure. Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of technical issues, providing timely support and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of OpenText solutions. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the OpenText ecosystem, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge to drive innovation and deliver value to our clients. Document technical specifications, design documents, implementation plans, and user guides to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure the maintainability and scalability of OpenText solutions. Collaborate with project managers to estimate effort, prioritize tasks, and manage deliverables, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget and scope. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the development team, sharing knowledge, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the overall success of the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., OpenText Developer Certification) preferred. Proven experience (8+ years) in software development, with a focus on designing and implementing solutions using OpenText technologies. Strong proficiency in OpenText Content Server, Extended ECM Platform, Documentum, Archive Center, and related OpenText products and technologies. Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, or similar, and proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, RESTful APIs). Experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and proficiency in SQL queries and database design. Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in agile development environments. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
