Role: Guidewire Developer Location: Chicago, IL (Locals) Duration: Contract Key skills: Guidewire, Java, AWS Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: We are looking for a skilled Guidewire Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions within the Guidewire platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development and AWS cloud services, along with a deep understanding of Guidewire applications. The successful candidate will work closely with our development team, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement Guidewire applications using Java and Guidewire platform tools. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs. Work closely with other developers to ensure the integrity and scalability of the software solutions. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Guidewire development and AWS cloud services. Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience as a Java developer, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles. 3+ years of experience working with Guidewire applications, including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter. Experience with AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS. Proficiency in Guidewire Gosu programming language is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Certification in Guidewire development is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Agile development methodologies. Knowledge of insurance industry processes and systems. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
