Ensure the performance, security, and availability of MySQL databases. Prepare documentation and configurations for database operations and migrations. Execute common database procedures, including upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations. Profile server resource usage and optimize/tweak configurations as necessary. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project requirements. Manage user access and permissions within MySQL environments. Stay updated on industry best practices and standards for MySQL database administration. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner. Essential Skills: Strong proficiency in MySQL Database Administration with at least 5 years of experience. Experience provisioning MySQL instances in clustered and non-clustered configurations. Proficiency in optimizing and tuning MySQL server performance. Solid understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines and replication configurations. Ability to write and optimize SQL statements. Experience with database backup, recovery, and migration procedures. Knowledge of MySQL features such as event scheduling and user management. Operating system understanding of Linux and Ubuntu. Desirable Skills: Experience with recent versions of MySQL. Understanding of high-level server resource requirements for migration planning. Familiarity with de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL database administration. Experience: 8-10 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on MySQL.
