Candidates must be able to speak deeply about their experience relating to the job responsibilities and duties. Two step highly technical interview process. Client: Hines Position: Systems Engineer Location: Remote Duration: 9 to 12 months www.hines.com Projects: Datadog integration, must have datadog or similar monitoring experience. However Datadog is a super duper plus. Anyone who starts off with Ive ben exposed to is not a fit. They have DDog but arent using it to its fullest potential Decomissioning servers. They currently have 66 servers sitting in Hines satellite offices. They need this person to walk the team through how they would go about this process. Starting with inspecting them, documenting, asking about the importance of apps/ data on them, planning migrations, to shutting down the server. Visio diagraming. There is no documentation regarding their physical infrastructure. They need someone to talk the team through how I would do this is. Overview The Hines Infrastructure Team is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who can work up to 40 hours per week, on a contract and remotely (in the USA). Responsibilities / Job Duties Lead tasks to migrate, consolidate, or decommission up to 60 physical servers or virtual machines located in remote locations Configure up/down, disk, etc. monitoring with 3rd party tools, specifically with DataDog or a similar tool Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backups & restore with Veeam and a TBD backup tool. Create Visios diagrams of the infrastructure and services it supports. Requirements 8+ years of experience managing Windows-based operating systems (2K8 to 2K19) with day-to-day work. 5+ years of managing backup software (configuring, installing agents, monitoring) Veeam preferred. Experience configuring and tuning 3rd party monitoring tools (installing agents, setting up alerts, testing, etc.) Ability to create Visios and diagrams or infrastructure and basic data flow Solid understanding of M365 and on-prem concepts Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networks & TCP/IP Experience working in medium to large companies (3K+ users) Experience with PowerShell, Azure basics, & Entra is a plus. Change management and awareness required. Work without much oversight and can complete tasks independently.
