The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using TOSCA for functional, regression, and performance testing of our software applications, as well as querying databases and analyzing data using SQL. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using TOSCA for functional testing of web-based and desktop applications, ensuring test coverage, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to define test scenarios, requirements, and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs. Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects, regressions, and performance bottlenecks, logging issues and tracking defects in defect management tools. Create and maintain test data sets and test environments, configuring and provisioning test environments as needed for automated testing. Develop and execute SQL queries and scripts to retrieve, manipulate, and validate data in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) for testing purposes. Analyze database schema, tables, and relationships to understand data models and define test scenarios and data validation criteria. Perform backend testing and data validation using SQL queries, comparing expected results with actual results and verifying data integrity and consistency. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing detailed bug reports and assisting with root cause analysis and resolution. Stay up-to-date with the latest TOSCA releases, features, and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance automation frameworks and methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 8+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role, with hands-on experience in test automation using TOSCA. Strong proficiency in TOSCA automation tool suite, including TOSCA Commander, TOSCA Studio, and TOSCA Execution Engine. Proficiency in SQL programming and relational database concepts, with the ability to write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and validation. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, HP ALM, Microsoft Test Manager) for test case management, execution, and defect logging. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, QA processes, and testing best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
