Position: 100% Remote Databricks Platform Administrator Only USC GC GC EAD Location:100% Remote Duration: 6+ Month Rate: 50/HR C2C Job description: Must have LinkedIn account Educational Qualifications: A 4-year college degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field is highly preferred. Databricks Platform Administrator plays a critical role in orchestrating the architecture, maintenance, and support of our Databricks platform. This includes a wide range of responsibilities such as platform design, setup, workspace management, resource monitoring, and delivering operational support. The role demands active engagement in troubleshooting, performing system recoveries, and identifying as well as addressing the root causes of service disruptions. Additionally, the administrator will oversee security measures and change management processes. Collaboration is key in this role, as the administrator will work in tandem with the Team Lead, fellow Databricks Administrators, System Administrators, and a spectrum of data professionals (Engineers, Scientists, Architects, Modelers, and Analysts). An essential component of this position involves participating in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support to ensure system reliability and performance. Core Responsibilities: Administer, configure, and optimize the Databricks platform to facilitate data analytics, machine learning, and data engineering operations across the organization. Engage with the data engineering team to streamline data processes including ingestion, transformation, and orchestration. Oversee and manage user privileges across the Databricks ecosystem, including workspace, Unity Catalog, and SQL warehouse settings. Provision and manage Databricks workspaces, cloud resources, account identities, and subscription settings. Ensure platform security and compliance through best practices in security, patching, and compliance. Monitor and optimize cluster and resource performance to manage costs and achieve optimal platform efficiency. Enforce access controls and security protocols to safeguard sensitive information. Administer Unity Catalog configurations, including schema data management and access permissions. Integrate and manage connections with Azure AD and Amazon AWS environments. Desirable Technical Skills: Required: At least 3 years of experience in supporting the Databricks platform in a production environment. Preferred: Minimum 2 years of experience with AWS/Azure PaaS solutions. Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, with at least 2 years of experience. A solid background in Hadoop administration (Cloudera/Hortonworks) for 2+ years. Experience in managing Apache Kafka streaming platforms for over 2 years.
