Configure and optimize network components, protocols, and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS, for performance, reliability, and security. Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools and utilities, identifying and resolving network issues, bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner. Perform network capacity planning and scalability assessments, analyzing traffic patterns, utilization, and growth projections to ensure adequate network resources and bandwidth for current and future needs. Implement and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices, including firewall rules, access controls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security incident response procedures. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of the network infrastructure, identifying and mitigating security risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps. Manage network equipment inventory, licensing, and vendor relationships, coordinating procurement, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users, resolving network-related issues, connectivity problems, and performance issues. Document network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for reference and training purposes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. 7+ years of experience as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar role, with hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure. Strong proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies (e.g., VLAN, STP). Experience with network security technologies and practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM), and security best practices (e.g., defense-in-depth, least privilege). Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG for performance monitoring, alerting, and reporting. Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and technologies, such as virtual private clouds (VPCs), cloud networking services (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute), and cloud security practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and identify root causes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels. Preferred Qualifications: Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent. Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies and solutions, such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, or SD-WAN. Knowledge of network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network configuration, provisioning, and management. Experience with network virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM. Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and industry standards for network security and data privacy.
