Note that while this is written more towards Oracle SQL the database to be managed will be MySQL and experience with that environment is required. Provides all activities related to the administration of database schemas and their objects. Projects long-range requirements for database schema administration and design in conjunction with Infrastructure DBAs in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases schemas in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of database schemas in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data and permissions. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex database schema objects with respect to user requirements, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Minimum Experience: Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access. Also has at least three years hands-on experience and expertise in Database Schema management. Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages. Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database. Security/Certification Requirements: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II Computing Environment: OCA18 or relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority. Required Skills: Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission.
